The newly developed Exmor R CMOS image sensor delivers 61.0MP resolution with a back-illuminated design for high sensitivity and low noise despite its high pixel count.

The latest image processing engine

The BIONZ X image processing engine works with the front-end LSI to maximise the performance of the high-resolution sensor while achieving up to 15-stop dynamic range at low ISO sensitivity.

Wide standard ISO 100-32000 range

The α7R IV provides a standard ISO range of 100-32000 and reduces noise in low- and mid-sensitivity ranges for high-quality imagery.

Fast AF despite higher resolution

Fast Hybrid AF provides responsive autofocus despite the large amount of data handled by the high-resolution sensor, including focusing performance under dim lighting conditions.

Steadfast AF tracking further improved

Increased AF points, wider AF sensor coverage and an improved AF algorithm enhance subject-tracking performance for consistent shooting of complex or sudden movements.

Dual media slots, both supporting UHS-II

Both SLOT 1 and SLOT 2 support UHS-I and UHS-II for fast data writing. The camera can simultaneously or relay record, separate RAW/JPEG and stills/movies, and copy data between cards.

Extend shooting to professional length

The α7R IV uses a high-capacity NP-FZ100 battery. The optional VG-C4EM Vertical Grip can hold up to two NP-FZ100 batteries for extended shooting.
