Advanced optical design, the F2.8 aperture and a new 11-blade aperture unit create beautiful G Master bokeh. An XA element with 0.01-micron surface precision suppresses onion-ring bokeh, while the new aperture unit helps produce natural circular bokeh.

Fast, precise AF supports creative shooting

Four XD Linear Motors provide high thrust efficiency and boost AF speed by up to 4x compared to the previous model. Tracking while zooming is improved by approximately 30% compared to the previous model, helping capture approaching subjects more reliably.
