Zoom to 600 mm, or 1,200 with teleconverter
The 200–600mm zoom range can be extended with optional 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters. The 1.4x teleconverter provides a 280–840mm range at F8–9, while the 2.0x teleconverter provides 400–1,200mm at F11–13.

High resolution throughout the zoom range
Five ED glass elements and one aspherical element provide high resolution throughout the zoom range. The aspherical element suppresses spherical aberration and distortion, while the ED elements minimise chromatic aberration at super-telephoto focal lengths.

Fast, precise AF keeps up with swift subjects
Sony's DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) system provides fast and accurate autofocus with high positioning accuracy. Its quiet operation also makes it suitable for capturing swift subjects without distracting noise.

Beautiful, natural G Lens bokeh
An 11-blade circular aperture contributes to smooth G Lens bokeh. The narrow depth of field available at super-telephoto focal lengths can be used to create striking images with deep, creamy background blur.

Excellent control and reliability in the field
The internal zoom mechanism keeps the lens length unchanged while zooming, helping maintain consistent balance during shooting. Three customisable focus hold buttons are positioned 90° apart for convenient access, while the fluorine-coated front element and dust- and moisture-resistant design provide reliability in challenging environments.
